About the event

Dr. Lea Starita is an Associate Professor of Genome Sciences at the University of Washington and co-director of the Advanced Technology Lab at the Brotman Baty Institute for Precision Medicine. She develops massively parallel methods to measure the effects of genetic variation on protein function. Using this approach, she hopes to help solve the problem of variants of uncertain significance to make genomic medicine more impactful and equitable.

Annelise Mah-Som, MD PhD, is a Medical Geneticist and research scientist at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. She attended Stanford University where she studied biology, then got her MD and PhD through the joint Medical Scientist Training Program at Washington University in St. Louis. She completed medical training in Internal Medicine and Medical Genetics at Brigham & Women's Hospital/Harvard, and is currently boarded in Medicine and pursuing certification in Clinical Genetics. She currently sees patients with rare genetic disorders…
